The IP2I, Institute of Physics of the 2 Infinities, draws on more than 50 years of research in the fields of subatomic physics such as nuclear and particle physics, and participates in major international programs in the field at CERN and around the world. It also conducts interdisciplinary research related to health and nuclear energy. The institute houses the LMA, Laboratoire des MatĂ©riaux AvancĂ©s, a national IN2P3 platform, which has developed the world’s most reflective mirrors, which were used to discover gravitational waves.
